One or Many the Hebrew Word “El-ohim”

Anyone who claims to be a monotheist must be troubled by the Hebrew word “elo-him.” When talking of God this word is translated as “God.” However, ‘elo-him’ has a plural ending. Shouldn’t ‘elo-him’ be translated as a plural?

Class 1 Introduction to the Jewish Sources Outline

In the first class we will provide an introduction to the Jewish sources. I feel that by spending the first class introducing students to the Jewish sources we will circumvent future confusion. It will also aid those students who have already put considerable time into learning the Jewish sources but who are confused on how to understand these sources.
